Saturday. A hot sunny day. Probably the warmest day of the year so far. The wood is full of bumblebees: bombus terrestris and lucorum and one pascorum too. We saw a beautiful purple beetle whose name we are trying to discover and also some slime mould and a bright mushroom (also awaiting a name...)
The beetle in question is a carabus violaceus.
